Every year, hundreds of millions of passengers transit through Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. Many of them have layovers of six, eight, even ten hours. Most of them spend that time in the terminal.
LayStop was founded by professionals with years of experience in the travel industry who saw this gap clearly. The infrastructure was already there — world-class hotels, restaurants, beaches, desert experiences, all within reach. What was missing was a trusted, time-aware shortlist that transit passengers could act on with confidence.
We built LayStop to be exactly that. Not a marketplace with hundreds of options. Not a tour operator: we do not run, organise or drive any experience, and we never take your payment. A curated shortlist that selects only the experiences worth leaving the airport for — and recommends them only when the timing genuinely works.
We believe transit time is travel time. A layover in Dubai is not a delay. It is an invitation.
How we select experiences
The LayStop standard.
Every experience on LayStop passes through the same selection process before it appears on the site. The first filter is always the clock.
Time compatibility
We calculate the total time required: the transfer to and from the airport (which you book separately), the experience itself, and a safety buffer for check-in and security. If it doesn't fit a 6-hour layover, it doesn't make the list.
Provider verification
We list only experiences run by established, verified providers with a track record of reliability and responsiveness with transit travellers.
Experience quality
We look for the experiences we would recommend to a friend with a 6-hour layover. If we wouldn't, it doesn't appear on the site.
Ongoing review
Our recommendations are reviewed regularly. Listings that no longer meet our standards are removed. New experiences are added as we find them.

How we work and how we earn
Honest about the business.
We select and curate
We research, time and shortlist. We do not run or organise the experiences, drive cars or take payments. What you see on LayStop is what we would book ourselves.
You book on the provider's site
Every "Book" button opens the listing on the provider's site. Their secure checkout, cancellation terms and customer support apply to your booking. The transfer is booked separately.
We earn a commission
The provider pays us a referral fee when you book through our links. You pay the same price as booking direct. That fee is how the site stays free to use.
