LayStop was born from a simple observation: millions of people spend long layovers waiting inside airports when they could be experiencing some of the world's most remarkable cities.
Our story
A layover is not a problem. It is an opportunity.
Every year, hundreds of millions of passengers transit through Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Many of them have layovers of six, eight, even ten hours. Most of them spend that time in the terminal.
LayStop was founded by professionals with years of experience in the travel industry who saw this gap clearly. The infrastructure was already there — world-class hotels, restaurants, beaches, desert experiences, all within reach. What was missing was a trusted, time-aware service that could connect transit passengers to those experiences safely and reliably.
We built LayStop to be exactly that. Not a marketplace with hundreds of options. Not a tour operator. A curated platform that selects only the experiences worth leaving the airport for — and only recommends them when the timing genuinely works.

How we select experiences
The LayStop standard.
Every experience on LayStop passes through the same selection process before it appears on the site.
Time compatibility
We calculate the total time required — transfer to and from the airport, the experience itself, and a safety buffer for check-in and security. If it doesn't fit a 6-hour layover, it doesn't make the list.
Partner verification
We work only with established, reliable operators who understand transit travel. Every partner is vetted for quality, reliability and responsiveness.
Experience quality
We visit, test and evaluate every experience we recommend. If we wouldn't recommend it to a friend with a 6-hour layover, it doesn't appear on the site.
Ongoing review
Our recommendations are reviewed regularly. Partners who no longer meet our standards are removed. New experiences are added as we discover them.
